Fredericksburg, TX

Built in 1846, the Loeffler-Weber Cabin is the oldest Sunday House in Fredericksburg. It was built by Gerhard Rorig as a shelter from the first winter in Fredericksburg. Twenty years later, a cabinet maker by the name of Johann Loeffler added the rock and half timber rooms and a cooking fireplace. The family tradition carried on as Loeffler’s son-in-law, J. Charles Weber, added more details and expanded the floor plan. It stayed in the family for 90 years, when George and Gloria Hill bought and restored the home.

This property at Wine Country Cottages on Main is one of the most unique structures in the Hill Country. When you walk in, you’ll be greeted by the small comfy living room with a small dining area and wood-burning fireplace. The small wet bar hosts a gourmet coffee make. The rustic theme continues into the bedroom with a beautiful antique king-size bed, which is fitted with luxury linens, feather pillows and feather duvet. The bathroom’s unique design offers a lot of light and is stocked with plush towels and William & Roam bath products.
From the vaulted ceilings to the custom masonry, you’ll enjoy all the detailed finishes this cottage has to offer. It’s situated on Main street, and in minutes you’ll find yourself surrounded by restaurants, shops and galleries. When the sun sets the nightlife comes alive, whether you’re looking for live music, dancing or a quiet wine bar.

A stay at the Loeffler-Weber Cabin is a great peak into Fredericksburg’s history while offering you all that the modern Hill Country has to offer.
