This area features a one-mile walking trail that allows you to view over ten acres of natural landscape along Live Oak Creek. It is a serene, peaceful area where you can enjoy a bird feeding area, butterfly habitat and even hire a local trail guide to show you around. It is located in Lady Bird Johnson Park on Hwy. 16 S.

Blanco State Park

Another beautiful area in Blanco County, off U.S. 281 at the Blanco River Bridge.

Enchanted Rock State Natural Area

Just 18 miles north of Fredericksburg you will find 8.4 miles of hiking trails at this very popular natural area. It is has stunning rock formations and breathtaking views if you have the time to explore. There is also a nature trail, rock climbing and interpretive exhibits. You may even run into a local who can show you some secret lookout spots so don’t be afraid to ask!

Guadalupe River/Honey Creek

There are 3 miles of hiking trails here along with places to fish and swim if you want to take a break and relax.

South Llano River

Another popular summer spot with 23 miles of hiking trails available. You can also take in some fishing, swimming and mountain biking. It is located five miles south of Junction, off U.S. 377 on Park Road 73.

Pedernales Falls

This stunning area has 8 miles of developed hiking trails and the option for many other outdoor activities. It is located nine miles east of Johnson City on F.M. 2766.
