Boot Ranch is one of Texas Hill Country’s finest golf courses and this magnificent, championship course is the setting for the Nimitz Golf Classic, coming up June 6th, 2014. This year marks the 5th anniversary for this spectacular golf event and each year it gets better and better. Maybe you are a golfer and are wondering what the hoopla around this event is all about. For one, this golf classic is hosted by the National Museum of the Pacific War—a world-class museum dedicated exclusively to telling the story of the Pacific and Asiatic Theatre battles in World War II. Secondly, to play on the nationally ranked Boot Ranch Golf Course will be a memory treasured for years to come.
The day will start with a players breakfast followed by an 18-hole, four-man scramble. Food and beverage stations throughout the day will be provided by top local restaurants and wineries such as: Grape Creek Vineyards, Garrison Brothers Distillery, Bejas Grill & Cantina, West End Pizza, and Otto’s. While on the course you will have to watch for fly-overs by World War II aircraft, military vehicles and tanks, and marines on the ground who may help “attack” this course.
The festivities will continue into the evening with a cocktail reception and dinner at the Nimitz Hotel Ballroom followed by a swing-style dance to the music of a fantastic six-piece band. The entry fee for this amazing event benefits educational programs at the museum and supports veterans and wounded warriors.
