When you do a private tour with us, the day is really on your schedule and we will customize it to your types of wineries. We can do the major stops in the heart of 290, some of the wineries out of town or we can hit the more relaxed pace of the Hye area. Here is a look at a recent tour we did highlighting the Hye area and Becker.

First Stop: Boot Ranch

With plenty of time to sleep in, Joe will pick you up at your suite at 10:30am and then we will whisk you off to the Beautiful, world renowned, and ultra exclusive, Boot Ranch Private Country Club for brunch. With an ever-changing menu, you cannot go wrong with any of the first-class options created by their amazing Chef—however, one of our favorites is the Crab Cake Benedict made by Chef Bill. It’s not on the menu, but when Bill hears that Joe is coming through the entrance, he starts making Crab Cakes. It’s worth the day just to have them with the jalapeño hash browns. With a relaxed schedule, you will be able to enjoy all Boot Ranch has to offer.

Second Stop: Alexander Vineyards

We have come to love Alexander Vineyards for their diverse offerings to the Texas Hill Country wine scene. In the midst of undergoing construction, their tasting room temporarily functions out of a mobile home. You can catch their sense of humor when arriving with a sign out front saying, “Our tasting room may suck, but our wines sure don’t.” They shared their wonderful Bordeaux, Riesling, and Champagne. If he is around, the owner, Claude Alexander is wonderful to spend time with. He shares his passion for the world of wine, and you can’t help but get excited. He is bringing a totally different offering of mainly French Wines to the area.

Third Stop: Becker Vineyards

With a number of awards and ribbons, Becker vineyards is one of the most established wineries in the hill country, and is one of the three largest producers in Texas. Becker showcases a number of varietals and allows their guests to get away from the hustle and bustle on their beautiful patio with live music. If your tour with us is on a Saturday, the library tour enriches guests with the history behind the wines, a small tour and a private tasting in the cellar of their favorite library wines. Becker also offers a variety of lavender products from their farm near the vineyard. With lavender fields, live music, food trucks, and most importantly, award winning wines, a wonderful time at Becker Vineyards is an experience you will not soon forget.

Fourth Stop: William Chris Vineyard

Right away, the William Chris Vineyard family makes you feel right at home. Upon walking in our guests were warmly greeted and set up for a wine tasting. The personality of this winery shows through its employees who’s personalities and a great sense of humor showed during service. Chris, one of the owners and the “Chris” in William and Chris, took time to tour us through the barrel room and it is an amazing treat. From several barrels we tasted their Rose’ (which sells out on bottling day), Blanc du Bois, his 500 Block Merlot, and a 2012 Syrah. Amazingly, all of their wines use 100% Texas State grown grapes. Sharing laughter, great wine, and ambiance, William Chris Vineyards created an experience for our guests that will never be forgotten.

Final Stop: Hye Market and Tasting Room

The wine tour would not be complete with out a stop at the Hye Market and Tasting Room. Offering a little bit of everything, they allow you to taste through unique beers, wines, and spirits. Gourmet Texas bites including Quail Sausage, Artisinal Breads and locally made gelato are also on the endless tasting line. You will be blown away by their Bloody Mary Mix. Joe buys some more every time he is there. Being such a fun place we all found it difficult leave.

  1. I am looking to do a nice weekend with some friends in the area. How much does this tour cost. We will have at the most 9 women. Sounds like fun and something very different to us.

    Thanks!
