One of my favorite things about Fredericksburg is the shopping. I love the neat little treasures you can find just about any where. Whether it be an antique shop, vintage shop, or a retail shop on main, I can’t resist. So one of the things that I recommend when coming to Fredericksburg (besides the shops on main) is Fredericksburg Trade Days. Trade Days only happens once or sometimes twice a month and this month its happening on September 20, 2013 through September 22, 2013. Here’s a fun fact! The land where trade days now operates was once a turkey farm. Years ago they raised turkeys for a turkey company based out Fredericksburg, but when that plant burned down 14 years ago…all of the turkey farms closed their doors. So fast forward several years, and the 6 barns still stand and are now the home to over 350 vendors. They sell antiques, clothing, iron/metal designs, yard decor, home decor, and so much more. All that shopping can get a little overwhelming, but no need to call it a day just kick back at the beirgarten ( beer garden) and enjoy good food, drinks, and the live music.
Trade days is located 7 miles east on highway 290 and right across from The Wildseed Farms. Times of operation are, Friday and Saturday from 9am- 6pm, and Sunday from 9am-4pm. There is a parking fee of $3 dollars, and the best part is that is covers all three days. So maybe you didn’t get to all the vendors, no worries just come back the next day. We hope you enjoy your stay in beautiful Fredericksburg, Texas and happy shopping!
