122nd Gillespie Country Fair This Weekend, Fredericksburg Texas

The Gillespie County fair is in it’s 122nd year and is the oldest county fair in Texas. This will be a fun filled weekend and it all kicks off with a parade down main street Fredericksburg today at 11am. It’s the biggest parade of the year and always fun to watch. At the fair, you can enjoy livestock, baking, agriculture shows, dances Friday & Saturday night and much more.  There is a carnival and midway all weekend (can you say funnel cake!!)  Friday night dance to the music of Darrell McCall and Justin Trevino and Saturday night John Conlee and Kyle Park. And don’t forget the horse racing this weekend. Many people don’t realize that we have pari-mutual horse racing in Fredericksburg and it’s a lot of fun. Box seats on the finish line are only $9! I’m including a link to a video of this years first race. Enjoy!

  1. I will have to live vicariously thrgouh your blog. The peaches in England are dire. I tried to make a cobbler the other day and it was a fail. I have been having success with blueberry buckles though! I also made some beans and cornbread the other day. Maybe I could try this with some nectarines and blueberries.
